About Shannon
Confetti Dreamers is the result of a 10-year journey that started with a creative spark, a dose of discontent, and a nudge that wouldn’t go away. With the help of supportive family and friends, Shannon listened to her heart and is busy chasing her dreams.
Shannon is an instructional designer, author, former teacher, and self-proclaimed introvert who spent much of her life questioning why she felt out of place in a world perhaps not designed for her. Her journey of self-discovery led to an Autism diagnosis later in life, a revelation that has profoundly changed her perspective and fueled her passion for advocacy and education.
As an author, Shannon published her first book, The Unexpected Adventure That Changed My World, through Confetti Dream Publishing, LLC. This allegorical tale explores themes of diversity, equity, and inclusion through the concept of segregated color worlds. The protagonist’s journey, inspired by discovering new colors and dreams, mirrors Shannon’s own path to understanding and embracing her true self.
Her soon to be released book, Living Authentically Through Color: For Autistic Women+ (and other curious minds), shares her journey and ideas for embracing life authentically using a color-infused version of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs as the framework.
Shannon’s vision is to create a world where individuals, particularly women, don’t feel the need to mask to fit in, but instead, embrace their unique identities. Through her work, she encourages others to join a tribe of confetti dreamers—those who choose to live authentically and vibrantly.
